Paris photoshoot with vintage cars

The classic architecture in Paris and the romantic streets create the best backdrop for your photoshoot. But what makes it better is to include a vintage car, making the photos even more unique. Nowhere else in the world besides Paris is better for a vintage car shooting. Combining style and timelessness, vintage cars give that "wow" factor in your shooting experience and the final results.

Where to shoot in Paris with a vintage car?

Ideally it is a place with more space and more choices of spots for parking. This will ensure that you have more photos without too many unwanted crowds and cars that enter into your frame.

1) Eiffel Tower - the iconic landmark of Paris and everyone's favourite spot

Undoubtedly, this is the most popular spot that everyone would like to shoot at. But it comes with a price - the Eiffel spots are often very crowded so you need to be patient in waiting for the crowds to pass, and sometimes it may not even happen. The only way is to try to shoot in the early morning to avoid the crowds as much as possible.

2) Pont Alexandre III

Pont Alexandre III is the most beautifully ornamented bridge in Paris, and a vintage car suits the setting perfectly. There are even some spots on the bridge where you can have the lovely bridge and a view of the Eiffel Tower.

3) Place Vendôme

Known for its grand boutiques, hotels and the impressive column in the center, Place Vendôme is the representation of Parisian luxury and elegance. A vintage car here is showing you in the glamorous Parisian lifestyle of the past, and the surrounding classical Haussmannian buildings is the perfect backdrop. At Place Vendôme, you get to have a wide space for the shooting and it is usually less crowded compared to the typical landmarks, so there are more possibilities.

4) Place des Victoires

Place des Victories is a small lesser-known plaza but equally beautiful with the Parisian buildings surrounding it. The best part is that it is usually more quiet and without too much traffic.

5) Place de la Concorde

Place de la Concorde, situated next to the Tuileries gardens, you get to have a wide space for the shooting and a very beautiful green fountain and Parisian buildings.

6) Parc Monceau - in front of a classy and grand gate

In front of Parc Monceau, there is a very grand and royal gate, which is a simple yet elegant backdrop for your vintage car shooting.

7) Montmartre - a hilly area where famous artists used to gather

With the charming setting, Montmartre is a very special town quite different from the rest of Paris. It's a hilly town that has village-like vibes: stone villas and colourful houses. You can imagine yourself travelling back in time and becoming one of the sophisticated artists who used to live in this area.

Which type of vintage car to choose?

It is really up to you, but the leather seats can give a more classy look especially for close-up shots.

Open-roof cars are generally better for shooting as you can have a greater variety of poses and the lighting is better.

What to wear for your vintage car photoshoot?

To truly capture the essence of Parisian chic, styling is just as important as location. Vintage outfits or a more classy wedding gown can be a good match for the vintage car shooting. If you have a long A-line wedding gown or a chic short wedding dress, it'll be much more easier for the sitting poses on the car. For mermaid gowns, more standing poses will be suitable as it generally creases easily.

When is the best time for the shooting?

As the car is usually parked on the road or busy iconic landmarks, it is highly advised to shoot in the early morning, like any other photoshoots in Paris. Then you'll get more of the nice cleaner shots without too many crowds behind. Instead of having to wait for the passerbys or cars to pass every now and then, the whole shooting will be much smoother and faster. The sunrise golden hour will be the perfect time especially if you are shooting at open areas where the sun is visible.
